The first 30 pages were a stellar read--engaging, fast paced, fascinating--and then my dad calls me on the phone to let me know that this gift I bought him has a serious flaw--it's pages get out of order, and about 80 pages in, entire pages are missing, just blank. Amazon did nothing but promise another print-on-demand book, and I've learned that other purchasers have already made their returns--just to get a brand new, similarly flawed book. Amazon has the sole power to fix this printing error, but isn't. We ended up contacting the author and getting a new copy. The book is so good, we wanted to buy the whole set! Went to Barnes and Nobles and discovered that Amazon has cornered the market on this book, but is ONLY printing on demand. It's a real shame. We won't be buying ANY more print-on-demand books from Amazon. Our plan is to go directly to the author if we must. What a waste of paper! Shame on you Amazon. You need to do better, goliath that you are. Sometimes I wish books could be rated higher than the 5 Star limit. This is one of these times. The one on one interviews along with the personalinformation of those involved add such character, beauty and credibility to this most important work of WWII. This is a 'must read' for any and all persons interested in the most costly and brutal war in our history. You will meet members of our 'Greatest Generation' and they will share formerly unheard horrors of WWII.This is a book that should be read by all High School students before they graduate into the real world. Never should we forget the price paid for the freedoms we enjoy today. The heroes portrayed in this book will stick with you for some time, as they well should.Matthew Rozell is a hero in his own right by giving life to these stories.
